Sanepa House

Residence

Sanepa, 2019

The three bedroom residence is built on about 750 sq.m. of land. Set to the north west of the property the building is designed to allow for maximum solar gain and preserves the existing trees and pond. In addition, this placement is least affected by future construction activity in the neighborhood.

The building is planned as a semi courtyard opening up towards the south. The ground floor living area, dining and kitchen all open up towards the courtyard enabling a comfortable indoor outdoor living experience. A double height gallery above the dining area connects to the upper floor bedrooms and a family room. The utility rooms stores and bathrooms are set to the north of the house following basic passive solar principles.

Designed with eco-friendly sustainable building techniques such as insulated green roofs, floor heating and double glazing the house assures additional thermal comfort. Rain water harvesting and waste water treatment have also been included.
